Version 1 = One student sings the solo and the rest of the class sings the “class” part. While singing, the soloist pretends to pour lemonade into students who are holding cups in their hands. On the last word, the person who the soloist is standing closest to becomes the new soloist.
Version 2 = One student (or a group of students) acts out a profession. Students sing the song until the “What’s your trade?” part. The rest of the class can guess what profession the student is acting out. The guesses can even be in so-mi pitches. Example: a student can sing, “You’re a doctor!” and the student acting can sing, “No I’m not,” or “Yes I am!”
