Micheál Houlahan is a Professor of music theory and aural skills and Chair of the Department of Music at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. After graduating from St. Patrick’s College, National University of Ireland he was awarded an Irish Arts Council Scholarship for graduate studies in Hungary and a Fulbright Scholarship for doctoral studies at the Catholic University of America in the United States. 


Philip Tacka received his doctorate from The Catholic University of America. He received his Orff Institute in Austria and completed postdoctoral work at the Franz Liszt Academy, Budapest/Zoltan Kodály Pedagogical Institute in Hungary. He is a Professor of Music at the Millersville University of Pennsylvania


Kristopher Brown is a highly qualified Instructional Designer with over ten years of experience researching, developing, and implementing content designed for children that is unique, culturally sensitive, appropriate, and founded in best educational practices.

Kristopher completed his Kodaly Certification program at Texas State University under Dr. Houlahan and Dr. Tacka and was announced as a teacher of the year in 2013.  His experience in fine art pedagogies makes Kristopher uniquely qualified in researching and implementing worthwhile content that is culturally relevant, socio-economically informed, and tailored to the specific needs of the target audience. 

Kristopher Brown has built a following online as “The Kodaly Viking”, developing Body Warm-ups, Listening Maps, Technical Trainings, and best practices for Restorative Behavioral Management Videos.  He now works as an independent education consultant, providing professional development, curriculum content creation and behavioral management sessions and is currently developing supplemental curriculum resources for Sound Thinking Interactive with Dr. Houlahan & Dr. Tacka.
